Is it normal to get white almost mold looking crust on top?
A Question from South Korea: I began growing sage for the first time. It's growing well in a pot outside. This newborn baby is now about two to three feet tall. Would cutting the center stem from it to produce another one be okay? Or would it be better to wait until next year?
You can do this but also keep pinching out the tips to bush it out
@@MoragGambleOurPermacultureLife Thank you for the kind answer and tips. So... if I prune sage in the same way as basils, is that enough?? :-)
Can you grow sorrel indoors? As a city dweller I don't have a garden.
If you have a nice sunny spot by the window - yes indeed
I wonder if i can add them to my tea for just the looks
Amazing place, wow wish i could live like that. In northeast America where winters are cold.
Yes, the subtropics give us all year round growing here- but if a luxury I know 😀
I made Comfrey tea this summer and it smelled like decomposed road kill. It was a stench like I had never smelled. Are people aware of the strength of this odor? It was an unexpected surprise.
Yes. Lids are good! Stirring aerates it too
Can you make it into a custard?
I will try!!
@@MoragGambleOurPermacultureLife yum
Wow what an interesting and informative video. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Greetings, What are their pests and diseases...remedies? Cheers 🍷, Upstate NY
Very very few .
Ty for your response. Mine: The leaves are curling, turning yellow, then brown. It would be nice to send a foto. Cheers, Upstate NY
I appreciate that you didn't spend 30 minutes sharing that information with us! Lol And I am going to try my comfrey flowers next time I go out to the garden!😊❤
Glad it was helpful!
What a breath of fresh air is Stephanie Hafferty. Thank you Morag for this intro.🎉
Indeed! I love her work. Check out her own youtube channel
Where do you get them from?
Friends, community seedbanks, or internet
amazing
I love this flower. It smells amazing. I did have some cucumber Beatles and snails living in them but the plant prevailed.
Wonderful!
wow the leaves are "Huge". Please give me some tips how to grow this. Thank You
It is in a nice shady moist spot - doesn't dry out - under other plants.
I heard Nasturtium leaves are a powerful antibiotic for Pneumonia.
thanks for sharing this
Fantastic ❤
Thanks 🤗
Brilliant🎉
Thanks 🙏
Thank you, wonderful information.
I thought you might like to know that my Pineapple Sage has behaved as a perennial for the past 10 years or so, in a cool mountain zone. It sits near my pantry window (floor to ceiling window) and I get to watch the tiny honeyeaters hang upside down, feasting on the nectar. Love it!!
Thank you for sharing
Where should you stoee the bucket of sand, outside? Inside? It gets cold here in tn,i grow it,but have not had much luck over winterng it,i just replant rhizomes every spring in beds
I’m in subtropical area so I store in a cool sheltered position out of rain. If it’s cool area perhaps in a carport/shed.
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Could you clarify something, please? 'm watching all your videos from the beginning. I watched the Hidden Benefits of Lavender. I've read that lavender should not be mulched as it rots so how does that work using the permaculture layers methods of compost, newspapers and mulch? Could you explain how best to plant lavender, please? Sorry to tag onto this video but I wanted you to see my message. Hugs from Crete!
Hello. Lavender does not like having wet feet, so plant in a well drained position. There are many varieties though. I’ve looked for one that works well in my warmer wetter climate and put it in a hot dryish spot. I usually take cuttings and strike them before planting out. I do interplant them in my diverse permaculture garden so they are mulched with the rest of things and they thrive. Especially because I have them in the hottest driest sector. Try it a few places and see which works best.
I think our climates are very similar which is why I knew you'd be able to answer my query! My lavender grows well but I'm trying to adapt my currently planted beds to the no dig method. It makes a lot of sense to me. I've also been watching Charles Dowding so between you I reckon I have the best help I can get. Thanks, Morag. Hugs from a baking hot Crete!
Is this good for people with arthritis in your fingers?
Thanks for the question, but I’m not a qualified health practitioner so rather not give out advice like this. Wishing you all the best.
I grow and LOVE nasturtiums and LOVED your video. I'm subscribed! Any visitors that tour my home vegetable garden, I insist they taste my nasturtium "pepper lettuce ." They're always amazed!!!! at the peppery flavor! I no longer grow arugula or various lettuces since I'm growing beets, daikons, turnips, etc... where the greens are all edible. Great video! Thx for sharing. ❤🫛🥕🧅🥒🫑🍎🌶🥔🥬🥒
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing what you do. They are amazing aren’t they.
@@MoragGambleOurPermacultureLife YES!♥️
Can the calendula oil be used on its own for skin healing? And wouldn’t it be better because it’s more concentrated?
Sure thing.
Thank you so much this was amazingly helpful!!
You are very welcome 🌿
They are a great antibiotic. I dry them, powder them and put it in capsules. 😊
Interesting
I love your videos. They are short and to the point, which works great for my busy schedule. You are such a beautiful, knowledgeable woman. Thank you for all you share.
You are so welcome! Thank you.
Your right! Your the only one I've seen who talks about the flowers. Thank you! 👍👍
Thank you for being you! I love the way you share your knowledge; so open, so positive. All Good medicine sister! Lots of love from Richmond Hill, GA, USA
Thank you so much!
Thanks, Morag. Great video. Plus, you two were very cute. My heart melted
😊 thank you
What you're describing there is a cardamom ginger, AKA false cardamom & dwarf Cardamom. True cardamom, Elettaria cardamomum, should not have any fragrant to their leaves and are very tall plants, full grown size is 2 meters or more. False cardamom leaves are fragrant and can be used in tea/cooking but the fruits are nothing like the true cardamom, and therefore these two plants cannot be used interchangeably.
Yes, not the true cardamom, but a wonderful plant in the garden ecology
I love that you garden barefoot 😊😊 you get to tend & nurture your garden as well as your senses & soul while grounding in the garden. ❤❤❤ brilliant 🥰🙏🏼💕💕🩷
Thank you. Yes, I absolutely love it. Feels right.
Thank you very good information
You're welcome. Thanks for dropping by and commenting.

Good stuff. Thank you. ... and some people know the superficial level of their culture, yet have lost the ancient wisdom, the part that was there before colonialisation or wiping out by organised religion, etc... And we connect with ourselves, with the land here, listen to what is happening, connect with people and rediscover our lives...
Morag and Chantelle, thank you so much for the wonderful video. I watched it two times. Very informative! I am going to use many ideas in my Florida garden!
Wonderful! Wishing you all the best with it.
I suck and chew the gel after brushing my teeth, gives a nice fresh aftertaste and fights bacteria that cause plaque
Indeed! Great idea.
Can I buy from you curry leaves tree? I'm paying you through PayPal prepay card? Please
No, sorry - I don’t sell plants
Does it attract Snake 🐍 ??
Never head that before
Can a dwarf everbearing variety have leaves this large?
I don’t think so. It would unlikely have enough roots and access to moisture and nutrients like these big old trees do
